I highly recommend that you come for a visit. Sit on the porch and watch the birds. Gather at the outside fire pit and sing songs. It's all good and I can't wait to return.
This house had all the right areas and amenities for our large group of college friends. At any given time, some of us were on the deck enjoying the view and birdsongs, others in the comfortable living room and others were gathered around the large kitchen island. The beautiful kitchen has every appliance/utensil, etc. we could have wanted. Everything was very clean and well organized. Fireplace was much appreciated. We will be back!
I spent 5 days at Bears Paw as part of a quilting retreat. It is a beautiful and luxurious place. Beautiful views from indoors and decks. All furniture, appliances and amenities are of the finest quality. It is up a long access road with some very steep sections. The upper level can sleep 10+ with only 1 bathroom on that level, but overall I highly recommend Bears Paw!
What we discovered is Bears Paw Lodge. We slept 18 in beds - no-one on the floor. I personally am a landlord, and try to think of my tenants and their needs when setting up the house for the season. At Bears Paw, you have no needs. The place is not only beautiful, but very well equipped - with everything! Steam room, sauna, gourmet kitchen, wine bar, multiple wood fireplaces. Add to the a landlord who really takes care of his people.
It was our 40th reunion from Juniata College. For a number of years we have rented a house for our reunion, so that we could gather together in a safe place, truly kick back, and visit with old friends. We always try to stay close to the college since that is why we are there. Over the years the list of guests has grown, so this year I went looking for something Big.
Lodge was amazing but for quilters there needs to be more light in the sewing room. Also instructions on how to operate the appliances need to be placed in a notebook.
We had a wonderful time at the Bear's Paw Lodge! We hosted an event there (a follow-up celebration after our wedding in France on this side of the Atlantic) and this was a perfect setting for it. We were able to have a number of friends and family stay with us in the lodge for a few days and the site itself is simply lovely. Tom was incredibly helpful and worked with us around a number of the details in advance. I would definitely choose to stay there or host an event there again in the future.
