Cool place, has old growth trees
Allen Seeger Natural Area is a great place to picnic, hike, play in the stream. There is a nice walk through an old hemlock forest, which if you time right around the 4th of July you will walk through a tunnel of Rhododendron flowers, there are wooden bridges crossing small streams and places for kids to play along the stream. You can park here and take longer trails around Rothrock State Forest.
Beautiful place for a walk.
Awesome area of forest that was never clearcut in the past. The pine trees and mountain laurel are impressive, and this is the starting point for a nice hike to an abandoned fire tower.
Hemlock grove and old growth forest with a short loop trail and also has the Greenwood Spur of the Standing Stone Trail running through it for longer hikes.
